OUR AGENCY

Stone House Child and Youth Support Services is a Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) contracted agency. Services provided are diverse and vary depending on the specific needs of the client(s). Services are provided on an outreach basis 24 hours per day and are dictated by the directive of the arranging or supporting Social Workers or professionals. This emergency response program responds primarily to the identified needs of MCFD After Hours Units in the Vancouver/Richmond and Fraser Valley regions. The program also accepts daytime referrals from both MCFD, and Aboriginal District and Resource Offices.

Stonehouse Child and Youth Support Services is committed to providing immediate assistance for children, youth, and families as part of a continuum of services and support. We are dedicated to providing quality short term, immediate support while respecting the individual needs and strengths.

OUR MANDATE

Our mandates are program specific and are outlined in the contractual obligations with the Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD).  As with MCFD, they reflect the following principles:

• To provide a comprehensive, continuum of effective services to children, youth and families with a variety of needs
• To strengthen the capacity of families and communities, while recognizing the importance of family and individual resilience
• To provide services in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner
• To utilize the wrap-around/integrated case management support to involve children, youth, families and their informal supports from the communities they live in
• To provide services with an emphasis on early and ongoing assessment and planning and prevention
• To bring services to children, youth and families
